Happy Tuesday, everyone! Are we all ready to seize the day and get stuff done? I wish I could say I am, but truthfully, I’m tired. I know that goes without saying, but I feel like the show that I was at last night kind of drained me (but in a beautiful way). I need a pick-me-u,p which means it’s time to jump into some new music with hopes that a song hits me just perfectly and fills me with enough energy and optimism to get through the rest of the day.
Cherry Haze’s sound is, admittedly, a bit more poppy than I tend to go for, but I was instantly hooked by their new song “In Circles.” Although definitely poppy, there’s a nostalgic pop-punk vibe throughout this song that spoke to my heart and soul. This song is easy to listen to. It’s light, and the lyrics feel soft and clean throughout the three-and-a-half-minute song. That being said, there’s this little glisten of angst in the chorus that gives it a Four Year Strong kind of energy. The blend of these two contrasting feelings and vibes is what makes “In Circles” a song that feels super familiar but also super fresh at the same time.
