Girl at the Rock Shows

I know I still have a few hours of my day job left, but I’m already planning my “Getaway” as far as getting out of here is concerned. I am ready for a nap because, as of now, there’s no way I’ll have the energy to do a show tonight as much as I want to. Although this song isn’t helping the daydreaming, I’m hoping that it will give me the motivation to get my head back into wor,k if only for the last couple of hours of the day job.

“Getaway” is the third single from Great Mistakes’ new EP, and after just one listen, you will surely want to check out this EP as a whole. “Getaway” is an angsty punk anthem with leanings into a pop-punk world and a more alt-rock-based world. It’s the perfect blend of styles with the perfect message behind it. “Getaway” is about running away from your everyday life to a place where there isn’t anything normal. Where there are no politics, no debts, no troubles– nothing. Sounds like a lovely place, doesn’t it? Although this song won’t actually take you to that fairytale land, listening to this anthemic track from Great Mistakes will at least give you a few minutes of peace during what I’m sure has been a pretty insane day.
