Cats and existential dread? I’m seriously thinking that Trash Man created “Eventually” (and the video that comes with it) just for me. Okay, I know that’s not true but, naturally, with those two things at the core of this song and accompanying video, Trash Man had me hook, line, and sinker.

I love how this song is all doom and gloom when you really get into the lyrics. It’s about how “Eventually” things will get better, but, for now, everything feels a little wash, rinse, repeat. I mean, how can you not relate to that? I would like to think that I live a pretty exciting life with all of the amazing live music that I get to see night after night, but during the day, I can’t help but wonder if there’s more than what I’m doing. My day job isn’t bad, but it isn’t exciting. I have a lot of time throughout the day to just let my mind wander into dark spots, and if I’m not careful, I can get lost in it. This song takes that feeling, puts it in the spotlight, and reminds you that you are not alone and that there is beauty in the mundane; you just have to find it. Long story short, “Eventually” from Trash Man is speaking to me right now. It’s raw and honest, but also an oddly encouraging song (and it has a heck of a cute cat in the video, too).
