I am much more of a winter person than summer but, now that there’s a chill in the air here in Minneapolis and the fact that winter is upon us is a reality, I find myself longing for those “Endless Summer Days.” Although we will have to wait for a couple of months to get those up here in Minnesota again, at least I have this amazing song from We Know John to keep the memory of those days alive.

The sound of We Know John is boisterous and larger-than-life. This isn’t a surprise since this group is a six-piece band, but I think what is a surprise is how, even with so many members and such a big sound, every song I hear from this band feels controlled and perfect, with “Endless Summer Days” being no exception. I love how you feel the sun on your face as this song plays. This song is technically about looking back on the good times you spent with a summer love, but, honestly, I feel like this song is so much more than that one storyline. For me, this song felt like a love song to summer in general, not just a summer love. You feel the excitement that comes with that first day of the season, and you feel the euphoria that comes with those nights where you can stay out long past your bedtime and enjoy fresh air and a slight breeze and as the song fades out, you remember the memories of all of those amazing times you had this past summer. I know we’re moving into fall and, shortly thereafter, winter, but I will absolutely be keeping “Endless Summer Days” from We Know John in my back pocket so I remember what is on the other side.
