I’m not sure what’s going on today, but I have been slammed since I got to work. That’s not a bad thing, and I understand that my day job is what pays most of my bills, but it’s frustrating when I have so many other things to do. I don’t want to be placing orders for nuts and bolts; I want to be reviewing new music and booking shows. Taking a break right now probably isn’t my best idea, but moberod has a new song out, and I need you all to take a listen to it, even if, like me, you only have a few minutes to spare this morning.
There are moments of “Cut It Out!” that will make you want to dance like you’re at a retro sockhop and other moments that will make you want to mosh like you’re at an epic punk festival. That’s the magic of moberod. moberod refuses to be put in a box and put music out there that they want to, and I love that. There’s drama, there’s theatrics, and there’s grit in this song. It seems to be constantly changing, but the one thing that stays constant throughout this three-minute-long track is the heart and conviction that comes with every passing beat. It’s hard to believe that moberod is a one-man band, but that’s exactly what it is, and I feel like that fact just makes “Cut It Out!” and all of moberod’s other tracks so freaking amazing.
