Girl at the Rock Shows

I adore LowDown Brass Band. Although I’ve only had the honor of catching them a couple of times over the years, they are one of those bands that I constantly throw on my daily playlists to give me a little extra pep in my step and to add a little razzle-dazzle to my playlists. Their new song, “Echoes of a Photo,” will absolutely be landing on my daily playlist.

As their name suggests, LowDown Brass Band is, in fact, a brass band, but what sets them apart is the way that they make their songs. Instead of being constantly boisterous and in your face, as many brass bands are, I love the way that this band blends that signature sound with something that leans a bit poppy at times and a bit almost soulful hip-hop at others. You get all of those flavors in this new song, but you also get a sense of passion and fire that can only come from a band as talented as LowDown Brass Band. I love how this song feels like being at a giant outdoor music festival, but also fits for those cold and cozy days that are coming with the changing of the seasons. LowDown Brass Band continues to be a constant in my life, and I really hope you take the time to check out this song and everything else they have out there because, surely, they will be the constant you’ve been missing in your life as well.
