Girl at the Rock Shows

I’ll be honest, I’m feeling a bit manic today. I’m not sure what it is, but I assume it has something to do with it being a holiday and one that is surely to take a wild turn as I try to tackle a couple of shows tonight. It’s not a bad kind of manic, and I kind of like this energy I’m feeling, but I need to chill out a bit if I’m going to make it through the rest of the day, so let’s take a breather and check out the beautiful piece of art that is “Never Be Forgotten” from REIGNS.

The beauty of REGINS’ vocals will hit you within seconds of this song. Although I am still feeling energized and manic, something about REGINS’ vocals sent a chill down my spine instantly and, with that chill, a sense of calm and peace that I had yet to feel today. “Never Be Forgotten” is absolutely drenched in soulful emotion. I wouldn’t say it’s a particularly sad song, but the lyrics are half heartbreaking, half triumphant. The song is about knowing when to walk away. About facing the fact that something may be beautiful and important to you, but ultimately is just causing you pain, so you have to move on for yourself. There’s a slight frantic energy that I got from this song, which makes sense given the subject matter, but I love how, overall, this song came off as a victorious anthem. “Never Be Forgotten” from REIGNS is the kind of song that comforts you when you’re moving on, and it’s a bit harder than expected, and it’s the kind of song that you can celebrate with when it’s all said and done. What I’m trying to say is that this song is so much more than just a track; it’s a world to get lost in when you feel like you have nowhere to turn.
