Girl at the Rock Shows

It’s one of those times where I just don’t have a quirky intro for you. The day is going fine, but it’s just another day where I’m doing my best to catch up and keep caught up with work. Nothing exciting, nothing bad. The only thing that seems to be adding any chutzpah to my life is new music, so why don’t we check out “The I In Infidelity” from The Active Set?

As one may assume from the song title, this song from The Active Set is about cheating. Why even sugarcoat it? The Active Set clearly doesn’t. The words are clear as day, but there’s a twist. The protagonist of this song may not be who you think it is, and this adds such a brilliant turn to a tale as old as time. I love how you can taste regret throughout this song. You can feel pain and emotion with every passing note and word, but you can also just get lost in the slightly shoegaze-inspired indie-rock perfection that is The Active Set. This band has released two albums, two EPs, and a smattering of other singles. They have toured with many bands, from Bloc Party to Eve 6. It’s clear that there are big things to expect from The Active Se,t and I truly can not wait to hear what comes after “The I In Infidelity”.
