Well, we made it to Friday! A huge congratulations to all of us. I feel like this week started off moving slowly, but by the end of it, we hit warp speed, and now I am frantically trying to tie up loose ends so I can call the week a success. Although I’m not sure I’ll be able to tie everything up, I know that this week is going end as a success if only based on all of the amazing new music I’ve been able to check out and there’s no end in sight so let’s just continue on, ignoring the lingering to do list, and fill today with some amazing music starting with “Some Kind of Dangerous” from Arts Fishing Club.
“Some Kind of Dangerous” is the first single from Arts Fishing Club’s next album, ‘Pocket Full of Mumbles.’ It tells a story that feels so out-of-this-world, but when you start to think about it, you realize just how real it is. It’s about human evolving into machines, but how they keep the desire to remain human, making them a very dangerous kind of species. Don’t think too much about this because you will surely go down an almost apocalyptic trail. Instead, might I suggest you get lost in the sheer amount of swagger that this band has put into this song? It’s a powerful and pounding anthem that comes dripping with the feeling of sweat and intensity. It has an almost old-school, slightly psychedelic vibe to it, but it feels fresh and modern. It reminds me a bit of bands like Cage the Elephant, in a way, but with a slightly bluesier background. It’s a cool blend with a larger-than-life sound that perfectly matches the insanely compelling storytelling.
