Another day and another band name that seems to stand for something, but I can not, for the life of me, figure out what it is. So maybe I don’t know what Zvmn stands for or if it even stands for anything, but I do know that their new song “Crack Rock” is amazing, regardless of if you understand the band name (or even know how to pronounce it).
“Crack Rock” is only the second song from Zvmn, but it feels like this band has been playing together for decades with how tight and crisp this track is. I like how this song instantly reminded me of bands like FIDLAR and Dune Rats with the grit and the fast skate-punk vibe of the track, but how there was something slightly grungey about it, giving Zvmn’s sound a twist that is subtle but just enough to make them really stand out. This song is almost three minutes long but the fast and furious pace mixed with the energy that the band so perfectly crafted into this song makes it feel much shorter so pay attention closely and make sure to set some time aside to listen to it a few times in a row so you really get to hear and feel the genius that is “Crack Rock” from Zvmn.
