I’ll be honest, I don’t have super complicated relationships with my exes. I’m either still friends with them or just lost contact. There’s no drama and I couldn’t be more thankful for that. That being said, I have a lot of friends who have horror stories about failed relationships. Everything from insane and slightly psychotic behavior to just the feeling of regret or thinking you made a mistake after a break-up. What I’m trying to say is that although I can not really relate to the meaning behind “Let me go” from Halfway To Neptune, I know there are people out there who can.

This song is about an ex who hasn’t quite given up on a relationship. They keep on trying to get back with that person regardless of the signals and signs they are getting. It’s not a laughing matter, and as someone who has watched this happen with multiple people, I know it’s quite heartbreaking while anger-inducing at the same time. I love how Halfway to Neptune has somehow fit all of those conflicting emotions into this one, three-minute forty-six-second song. It’s a fast number with a definite pop-punk bop behind it, but at the same time, some moments feel a bit more tender than others, and some feel like a nice punch of angst right in the gut. Can’t relate to the message behind the song, have no fear. The rollercoaster ride of emotions that come through in this song is more than enough to make this a stunner for everyone out there so, what are you waiting for?
