I don’t have anything for you right now. I’m just trying to stay afloat during another manic Monday and, although stopping to take a break and check out some new music right now probably isn’t my best idea, it’s what I want to do so let’s dive into “Dark Comedy Late Show” from Völkslieder.

Völkslieder is the kind of act that refuses to be put into just one genre box, and this song is proof. It’s part electronic love song, part post-hardcore anthem, and so full of emotion that it’s hard not to use the describing word “emo” when it comes to this track. The way that Völkslieder blends all of these vibes and feelings into this one, nearly three-minute-long song is genius. It’s smooth but with epic rises and falls throughout that bring a sense of drama to your speakers. Although the style and feeling of this song seem to change with every passing second, one thing that doesn’t change is the clear talent of this musician and Ricardo Luis (who does the vocals). Not only can you hear it, but you can also see it happen in the video that comes with the song. Although the video is far from creative, it’s eye-opening to see the amount of work and passion that Völkslieder and Ricardo Luis have put into “Dark Comedy Late Show,” and it acts as the cherry on top of this amazing song.
