Have ya’ll been getting an insane amount of scam calls lately? I am, but thankfully, my phone has a filter that keeps them out, so they don’t interrupt my day, but if I want to, I can go in and see how many calls were blocked. The number grows daily, and it’s quite insane if you think about it. This really has nothing to do with this new song from Edging other than the song title, but if you’re frustrated about all of the “Scam Likely” calls you’ve been getting recently, hopefully this song will help you let off some steam.

Although I thought that this song title was just something quirky to catch your attention, it didn’t take me long to figure out that this song is a song about the frustrations that I just explained. It’s about how this world chooses money over welfare, and it portrays the frustrations that build up inside of all of us when we realize that we are being treated like consumers, not humans. Add some explosive ska horns and super gritty and powerful shouts in the vocals, and you are left with a protest song of sorts that will surely give you a chance to blow off that aforementioned steam. This song, at times, sounds like chaos, but once you realize what it’s about, that chaos feels organized and really hits home. I loved how this song not only made me think about changing some of the things I do to become a little less about consuming and a little bit more about community, but I also loved the energy that it filled me with. Call it ska, call it punk, call it art, call it whatever you want– Edging absolutely has my attention.
