Girl at the Rock Shows

I’m about to do something I’ve never done before– take a whole week off from my day job. I know that doesn’t sound like such a big deal, but to a workaholic like me, the anxiety is already building up thinking about being gone for an entire week. I fear the mess I’ll walk into after my break, and I fear I will quickly go stir-crazy at home and regret my decision. I’m trying to come up with a list of things to keep me busy outside my day job, and one of my ideas is to paint. I don’t know that it will actually happen. Although the idea sounds great in theory, the more I think about it, the more daunting it feels. Maybe checking out “I Paint Walls” from L.A. Sagne will give me the motivation I need to turn this pipedream project into a reality next week.

I love how loud this song is because it filled me with a sense of raw emotion that I didn’t know I needed this morning. Even though this is absolutely an explosive single, there’s something easy to listen to about the track at the same time. Crunchy guitars act as an almost drone beneath emotive vocals. It reminds me a bit of Gustaf with the artistic approach that L.A. Sagne has when it comes to this song. The overall composition of this track is far from typical, but with a sound as powerful as this, I didn’t expect standard. This artsy-punk anthem is about, as the band puts it, “the dreams you have and the job you hate.” To say that this is the perfect song for early on a frigid Friday morning, leading up to a week of no work for me, would be an understatement.
