It’s been decades since I’ve been on medication. Honestly, it’s just not for me. My parents tried it when I was a troubled teen and I definitely don’t blame them as I left them very few options as far as what to do but I think it messed me up. I felt like they ruined me and because of that, since I got off those meds all those years ago, I swore to never take another one. Even taking Advil takes a lot for me. Why am I telling you this? Because, although meds may work in my favor at times, I’m off of [my] meds and I feel amazing! Which happens to be the name of the band who put out “Digging Holes,” the next single that I highly urge you to check out today.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that this song is about mental health. Although it’s no surprise, I really like the positivity that I felt throughout this song. It’s a song about pulling yourself up by the bootstraps even during the lowest parts of your life. It’s a message that is said over and over again and one that we can tell ourselves over and over again but, during those lowest of lows, it’s a message that is hard to digest, hard to really get through our thick skulls. I love how I’m off my meds and I feel amazing! pays homage to not only this message, but that feeling throughout this three minute long song. It’s raw, it’s gritty, but it’s so beautiful and so full of hope. As I’m off my meds and I feel amazing! mentioned, their goal isn’t to reinvent the wheel, but just to keep it spinning and I think that “Digging Holes” is a perfect example of that.
