Minneapolis is a lot of things right now but “Scared” is not one of them. That being said, the feeling of uncertainty seems to be a theme up here. We are all uncertain of when this regime will leave, of when things may get back to normal, of what normal even is anymore. Thankfully, music is a beautiful outlet to help us get through all of these questions and songs like “Scared” from NOTADOG feel especially perfect given everything happening around us up here.

This song is about life’s uncertainties. You can feel this sort of nervous energy at the beginning of this track that embodies that feeling of not knowing what’s going on but, as the song moves on, you get a sense of strength and unwavering passion. I love the raw grit that comes from this song (and really every song I’ve heard from NOTADOG) and how it drives the point of this song home. We may not know what we’re doing, but we aren’t alone. Life is dramatic. It’s messy, it’s fun, it’s terrifying, it’s beautiful, it’s ugly, it’s everything and I feel like NOTADOG does such a great job of depicting all of those thoughts and feelings in this powerful, three minute long song.
