I thought long and hard about sharing this song with you. Personally, I absolutely adore it but acknowledge that the term “J.A.P.” isn’t one that is always looked at in a good light. Full disclosure, I, myself, am a bit of a “J.A.P.”– Jewish American Princess. It’s no shade, no shame, and something that I wear proudly but, again, before I move on, I want to acknowledge that I know that this phrase isn’t a favorite for some people. If you are one of those people, I ask you to look past that. This song is fun, funny, and catchy. If you don’t want to get lost in the words of the track, get lost in the vibe and, believe me, this song is a vibe.

As you may suspect, this song from PHEVER is about falling in love with a “Jewish American Princess.” The song starts off as butterflies and rainbows but, as the track moves one, you realize that this song doesn’t have a super fluffy ending as a heart is broken at the end of it. This song feels innocent and almost a bit juvenile but it’s fun and that’s what I latched onto when it came to this track. I also latched onto the words. I found it funny how I found myself relating to some of them but that could be just because I relate with the song title. Again, regardless of if you like or can relate to the lyrics or not, “J.A.P.” from PHEVER is a bright and sunny song and that’s something we could all use a little bit more of right now.
