Girl at the Rock Shows

I’ve had Limp Bizkit stuck in my head since I woke up this morning. I’ve been awake for nearly three hours at this point. I don’t know if I love or hate the fact that I have Fred Durst’s voice firmly stuck in the front of my mind but I know I’m ready to push it out by checking out some new music starting with “Spinning” from Taken Alive.

Although this is a new song to me, Taken Alive is far from a new band for me. I’ve covered a handful of their songs before but, just in case you haven’t been paying attention, let me remind you how amazing this band is. Their new song, “Spinning” is just as flawless as the other tracks I’ve shared from this band. The biggest thing that stands out to me about Taken Alive is their raw energy and emotion that they pack every single song with. “Spinning” is no different. You can feel every word of this song hit you like a punch to the gut while every drum hit and every other note in this track feels like a pinprick to the back. I know that doesn’t sound delightful but, in a world where I feel like we have become slightly numb to everything, I love how this song made me feel everything all at once. Add in the message behind the track (which I will not give up because you need to just hear this for yourself), and you are left with pure gold perfect for your Friday morning.
