I know that it’s super early on a Wednesday morning but I am already flying through work and in need of a short break and some new music. I can already tell that today is going to be a busy day but I can also tell that it’s going to be full of some amazing music. How do I know that? Because I’m starting it off with “Recognize A Friend” from Turner Cody.

Right off the bat, this song and video brought a smile to my face. Sonically, this song is so out of left field from what I typically listen to. It’s got this southern swagger and a calm, slow and steady kind of beat but there’s something about the grit in Turner Cody’s voice that instantly made me fall head over heels. The video is simple enough. It portrays, well, life. It shows friends doing what friends do– hanging out, laughing, dancing, getting into trouble, living life. I live a super fast moving life. I like things at break neck speed and am a huge harborer of anxiety. Something about this song made me slow down. It took me to a world where things just move a little slower, a little freer and, honestly, it’s something that I will absolutely be coming back to because, although just 7 AM, this song and this overall vibe has absolutely set me up for success.

“Recognize A Friend” is the latest single from Turner Cody’s new album ‘Out For Blood’ which is out now via Capitane Records. Like I said, I have a feeling that today is going to be a busy day with work and a lot of amazing music to check out but I am absolutely going to carve out some time to check out this entire album.
