Although I’m still not feeling great, I’m determined to not let it get the best of me. I will make today a productive day. I will continue sharing out new music to help not only myself keep going on this manic Monday, but also to help you. Why am I saying this? Because, honestly, I need to manifest it. I can already feel myself slipping. I’m already day dreaming of the epic nap I’m going to be taking when I get home surrounded by tissues hot tea. I can’t give in so I figure now is a perfect time to take a little breather and check out another new song for the day.

Mess is an alt-rock band from Bristol, UK and their sound will instantly have you hooked. It’s definitely grungy and crunchy but there’s this more standard alt-rock kind of vibe behind it which keeps it from falling into a strictly grunge category. Yeah, you can compare this to Nirvana, that would be more than fair, but you couldn’t stop there. The instrumentation seems to hit just a bit harder here and have an almost Foo Fighters styled sense of anthemic energy. Like any good grunge anthem, you can absolutely feel a sense of pent up aggression, rage and self-deprecation but, again, Mess just seems to have a little extra chutzpah that makes them so much more than just another grunge band. Don’t believe me? Check out “From The Cave” for yourself.
