Happy Monday, everyone. I’ll be honest, I’m still not feeling 100%. I spent the majority of my weekend trying to sleep off whatever this sickness I have is and, although it definitely helped, I was really hoping I would wake up this morning feeling all better. That was not the case but I’m not going to let another day pass me by. I need to get back to work, back in the swing of things, and back to spending my days checking out new music rather than getting lost in a sea of used tissues so let’s see if we can start today off right by checking out “Live Every Week Like It’s Shark Week (Live)” from northwalker.

As northwalker puts it, they “make music for those who refuse to let their inner youth die” and I think that’s such a perfect description to the sound that comes through in this song. It’s nostalgic. Within the first couple of seconds of this track, I was taken back to bands like A Thorn For Every Heart and old-school From First To Last. This song has that same teenage angst but there’s something about it that makes it more relatable for a thirty-something like myself. Maybe it’s the fact that this band is also made up of members in their thirties or maybe it’s something about the word choice. Either way, I love the fact that this gave me a feeling of nostalgia while also giving me something to relate and hold on to. If you’re like me and already feeling a bit restless today, “Live Every Week Like It’s Shark Week (Live)” from northwalker is the perfect way to kick off your week.
