I don’t know if a vodka lemonade and an Electric Lemonade are the same thing but I’m craving one. Obviously I won’t have one. That would probably be the worst thing I could do as far as kicking this illness goes but it just sounds so good what with the sun shining outside and the unseasonably warm weather. No, I will not go get a vodka lemonade but I think checking “Sinners” from Electric Lemonade may be just what I need to get me in a bit better of a mood.

Electric Lemonade refers to “Sinners” as their “gay anthem” and I love that. It’s a protest song that has been wrapped up in the disguise of a classic coming of age love story. Honestly, as much as I love the story told in song and this background on the track, that’s not what caught me. What caught me with “Sinners” and Electric Lemonade’s sound more broadly is their way of taking this slight feeling of angst and giving it a whimsical tail. Overall, this song is super infectious and fun with beats that made even my sniffling and sneezing soul want to get out of my desk chain and start dancing around. The whimsy comes through some of the imagery that they put into their words. It didn’t take long for me to see the story line of “Sinners” playing out in my mind only it’s probably not the same look as if you were to listening to this song. There’s a lot up for interpretation when it comes to this song and that just adds to the charm of this already heartfelt and stunning anthem.
