I have no problem falling asleep at night. For better or for worse, the second my head hits a pillow (or really any soft surface), I pass the heck out. It’s being perpetually exhausted and constantly stressed so, honestly, it’s not something I brag about because, truthfully, it’s probably not a good thing but it’s a bit like a party trick and I pull it out from time to time. Why am I telling you this? Well because I’ve never been one who has had to resort to “Counting Sheep” but if that habit is half as amazing as this song from 180xSummer is, I feel like I want to give it a try at least once in my life!
Feelings are a weird thing. Sometimes it’s hard to figure out if you’re happy or sad. If you’re excited or dreading what comes next or even figuring out if you feel anything at all. That’s what this song is about. It’s about those times when you are so betrayed, so hurt, that you don’t even know what you are feeling. Thankfully, I can’t relate to this right now but, looking back, there were many betrayals that left me speechless and confused. I loved how this song gave me a bit of an outlet for some of those feelings to escape. Don’t want to get that deep with this song? Have no fear. 180xSummer’s sound is infectious. It’s not super in your face or aggressive (although there is a nice little breakdown towards the end of the track) but it will make you feel something just due to the amount of emotion and care that this band has put into “Counting Sheep.”
