Girl at the Rock Shows

It’s another day where I have no clue what I want to listen to but, thankfully, it’s another day where I have so much new music to share out with you and, surely, each one of these will lead me down a rabbit hole of new music. Let’s get the day started off right by checking out “Time” from What Did You Expect?

“Time” is a brand spankin’ new song but it has a very timeless quality to it. I wouldn’t call this a nostalgic track but will say that it has nostalgic tendencies as you can hear a very early 2000s pop-punk influence throughout this near three minute long song. You also get an undeniable sense of emotion throughout this track while it gives you a swift kick in the butt to get moving with the energy that is in the track. What Did You Expect? found the perfect balance between a bunch of things in this song. It’s raw and restless but it’s also polished and calm at the same time. I love how heart-on-the-sleeve the lyrics are as they talk about that gray area between growing older and refusing to let go of your youth at the same time. Long story short, although we all live in a world where it feels like we don’t really have much “Time,” you absolutely need to make “Time” to check out this banger from What Did You Expect?
