I’ve been following Poor Bambi for a hot minute now so I was a bit surprised to see that their new song “Let Me Speak” is from their debut album. Honestly, with how much I love this band, I guess I just kind of assumed they already had a full album out there but, clearly, that is not true and I have just been listening to a few singles from them over and over and over again. I didn’t notice because this band is just that good. Every song is great and every time you listen to it, you find something new. Just in case you haven’t been absolutely hooked on this band lately, let me introduce you to “Let Me Speak” to draw you in and inevitably leave you in love.
This song is punk, it’s rock, it’s electronic, it’s alternative– it’s everything. The driving beat gives this song a slight club vibe while the vocals reminded me a bit more of acts like CSS or Sleigh Bells with an energy that can only be compared to that of any given punk band out there right now. It’s all over the place and I absolutely love it. I love how this song is a little sweet, a little salty. It’s a little tender, and a little angsty. Every word and beat feels like a rollercoaster in itself creating such a dynamic yet lush listen. At just two minutes and forty-seven seconds, this song is quick and it will surely leave your head spinning and you try and figure out what just happened and what world you just entered. Have no fear, as mentioned, you could listen to this song a million times and still hear something new on your million and first listen.
I don’t have to just listen to singles, ‘Skyscrapers Soaring, Yet We’re Drowning’, the debut album from this truly powerful band is out now so make sure to check it out and show this truly innovative and perfect band some love.
