It’s that regular after-lunch slump. I’m fading and fading fast but I still have a few hours left before I can escape home and take a quick nap prior to tonight’s show. I need a pump-up jam to bring me back to life and “What Daisy Did” from Ninebanks is doing just the trick.
To say that this song is full of energy would be an understatement. To say that this song is full of swagger would be an understatement. To say that this song is perfect would be an understatement. See where I’m going here? “What Daisy Did” is that just perfect kind of song. It has it all. A little sweet to match the subtle angst hidden in the track and a heck of a lot of catchy lines and melodies that will instantly get stuck in your head. The song tells the story of a rebellious girl who refuses to play by the rules so, yeah, you could say that I didn’t just fall in love with the catchiness of this song, I fell in love with the words as well. Even if you don’t find the lyrics super relatable, the sheer energy of this song will have Ninebanks stuck in your head for days and, honestly, that’s exactly where this UK band deserves to be.
