What are you doing on April 3rd? I will be silencing my phone, turning off my email (at least for a little bit) and getting completely lost in Codefendants’ new album ‘LIFERS’. I’m stoked about this album release because, truthfully, I just can not get enough of Codefendants. Whether it’s seeing them live (which I’ve had the honor to do a couple of times now) or just listening to their music, to say that I am in love with this band feels like such a painful understatement and I think that after just one listen to “Lonely Life” you will be in the same boat.

There’s so much drama behind this song and video but there’s also the heart that Codefendants puts into everything they do and that’s what really got me hooked here. Sure, it helps that Jakob Nowell from Sublime stars in this song and video but, really, Codefendants didn’t need the help. This song has power, it has grit and it has an insane amount of emotion. I love the tension that can be felt throughout this song and how Codefendants brings it all to a head with their sheer power. The drummer, the singing, the guitar playing– just everything here screams intensity and fustration in all of the right ways making “Lonely Life” such the perfect kind of “outlet song” for those days when everything feels like it’s just too much to take.
