Girl at the Rock Shows

This week has been trying to say the least. Not only am I on one heck of a concert bender, my day job and other various jobs have been insanely busy and I’ve just been completely wiped out. I’m not sure what it is but it’s just one of those weeks where I’ve constantly felt like I’m drowning. Now it’s Friday and we are at the point where it’s kind of like Jesus take the wheel. I can only do what I can do and, at this point in this trying week, all I want to do is Have Fun! so I feel like this new song from Have Fun! is the perfect way to kick off my Friday and help me shake off the stress that has been this week.

“Heat Lightning” is a single from Have Fun!’s new EP which is due out in the near future. It’s a pop-punk perfect kind of jam with just the right amount of carefree energy intertwined into their alternative sound. I’ll be honest, no matter how many times I listen to this song, I just can’t get super deep with is. That’s not to say that the lyrics throughout this three minute and nineteen second song aren’t perfect or that they don’t hit close to home but more that this is the kind of song that just filled me with a positive, fun-loving energy and, sometimes, that’s all you need for a song to hook me. Instead of getting wrapped up in the words, every time I listen to this song, I feel wrapped up in the energy of this track and that’s more than enough for me. I’m not sure when Have Fun! will be releasing their new EP but I know that I can’t wait to hear more from this Worcester, MA-based band.
