My day isn’t seeming to get any better at this point. I keep overthinking things and creating headaches for myself. This is what happens when I’m stressed and when I feel like I’m drowning in work. Although that’s exactly what’s happening to me right now, I’m determined to not give in so, instead of continuing to frustrate myself and grow this grumbling headache right behind my eyes, I’m going to take a break and check out “Valentina” from The Hong Kong Dollars.

This song is about that summer. At least that’s the way the band puts it. Maybe reading those words won’t help describe this song but those words mixed with the infectious energy that is “Valentina” will absolutely take you back to that summer. This is a free-feeling love song to the teenage dream that got away. It’s a fun and quick-paced bubbly track but it also comes with this taste of nostalgia and feeling of oceanside air. It’s bright but there’s depth and it will absolutely take you away from whatever stressors that are trying to win you over right now. Honestly, I wish I had more to say about this track because it’s so good but, truthfully, this song is hitting me at the perfect moment to where I’m lost for words. I let “Valentina” take me back to that summer if only for three and a half minutes and that created the best little break of my day thus far.
