My lunch is uninspired today. It’s just a few leftover stuffed shells from my dinner last night with a good drenching of tomato sauce. It’s fine, but nothing special. I thought about ordering something just because my day has been s rough and I felt like I deserved to treat myself but decided that instead of treating myself with a more inspired lunch, I would treat myself by checking out a new song from MEAN SEA because, honestly, that always makes me happy.

I’ve shared out a lot of songs from this band over the past few months but this one may be my favorite. Although definitely still in the pop-punk world that MEAN SEA lives so comfortably in, this song seems to have a little extra spice in it. There’s a bit more of a pointed energy in the angst that comes in and out of this song than what I’ve gotten from past songs but even that isn’t what hooked me. What really has me loving this track is the almost musical theatre kind of thing they have going on. Maybe that’s not the right way to put it but there’s just drama behind this song that I really could not get enough of it. It reminds me slightly of the drama and charades that Panic at the Disco has but with a bit more of a raw influence more like PUP or Jeff Rosenstock. I am constantly blown away by this band with every new song I hear but this one absolutely swept me off my feet and I think it’ll do the same to you if you give it a chance.
