Girl at the Rock Shows

I love reading what bands have to say about their own songs. Although I always listen to everything with my own ears, there’s just something cute and almost treasure-hunt-inducing about knowing what a band has to say about a particular song. For some reason, the songs I’m picking to share with ya’ll today aren’t coming with much information but that’s okay because each of these songs (including “interloper” from winterwell) stands on it’s own.

“interloper” has somehow found the perfect gray area between pop-punk, emo, and post-hardcore. There are moments throughout this song that feel angsty and explosive but they are quickly followed-up by moments that have a bit more tenderness and more of a soft approach. Honestly, this song reads like my mind does when I’m having a ADHD-heavy day like today. It’s all over the place. Some of the moments of angst seem to come out of nowhere like shards of glass right to your soul but, once you get past the initial shock of some of these moments, you realize that these glimmers of extreme emotion aren’t random. They are perfectly placed in a perfectly curated song that will absolutely speak to your mind and sing to your heart.
