After a week off, it’s back to real life. I’m back at my day job and already thinking that coming back maybe wasn’t my best idea. Okay, that’s not true. It feels good to be back but having a week off gave me a taste of freedom that tasted so dang good. It’s been hard to get back into things today but hopefully, filling my morning with new music can help so let’s jump right in starting with “last call” from Clipwing.
The first track from Clipwing’s debut album, this two minute song is an anthem for artistic hearts making it perfect for me today. There’s a slight taste of defeat throughout this song but also a sense of defiance. I love how this song starts off slow but, after about a minute, you get a taste of the sheer power that Clipwing is capable of. An opening track on an album definitely sets the tone and will either you get you hooked into a band’s world or leave you feeling thirsty for more. “last call” does both of those things. It gets you prepared for what’s to come from their debut album while leaving you wanting so much more because you feel throughout this song that this band has so much more blood, sweat, and tears to give. ‘.tedious and brief.,’ the debut album, is out now so, after you get hooked by this song, make sure to spend some time with the full album.
