Girl at the Rock Shows

Today is not going as planned. Does it ever? I was thinking it would be a chill day where I could get caught up on stuff but, instead, it’s been a constant assault of emails from my day job which each one causing a bit more of a fire than the last. I’m frustrated because I just want to fill my day with new music but, with how insane the day job has been, I can’t seem to concentrate on music at all. That being said, I need a re-set before I lose my mind so let’s take a little breather and check out “Daydreamer” from everycolourever.

everycolourever is a brand new act based in Halifax, Canada but you wouldn’t guess that the first time you listen to “Daydreamer.” Everything about this song is so perfect and screams tried and true, not brand spankin’ new. Stylistically, “Daydreamer” is perfectly situated in a world of nostalgic pop-punk and emo tones but the lyrics don’t have the same sense of nostalgia. They are about how quickly life passes you by and how hard it is to focus on appreciating it rather than stressing about it. This song reminds you to daydream a little bit and how it’s okay to get lost in a drift throughout fantasy worlds. Honestly, what a perfect reminder for a day like today when it feels like nothing is going right and nothing will ever get done.
