I’ll be honest, I’m a wee bit hungover today. I know that I did this to myself, so I’m powering through and trying not to be a little baby about it, but frankly, my head hurts, and I’m exhausted. Again, this was my own doing, but how was I supposed to resist one too many drinks when there was a Love Island viewing party on the patio of my favorite bar? Okay, maybe “viewing part” is a bit extreme as it was just me, my boyfriend, one of our favorite bartenders, and one of her friends, but I digress. It was fun and, although paying the price this morning, I regret nothing. Thankfully, I have some good music to help get me through this, like the aptly named “HUNGOVER” from Glass Parachute.
Glass Parachute admitted that they had a lot of fun making this track and, honestly, it’s not hard to hear why. This song is classic pop-punk-perfection. It’s a tale as old as time, as the lyrics are written about a breakup, but that breakup happened to Glass Parachute ten years ago, and I feel like that adds a unique twist to this track. Really, there’s nothing new or super unique about this song but that doesn’t change the perfection of it. From Blink 182 to New Found Glory, nods to pop-punk greats of eras gone by are as clear as Glass Parachute’s own personality that can be heard throughout this three-minute-long song. If you’re just in need of a fun song that takes you back, this is the one.
