I’m just waiting for my friend to wake up so we can start our trek to Chicago. Honestly, I don’t want to work. I want to be on the road, but I’m looking at this glass half full and am going to take this as a sign that I need to work. If work is what I have in store for me right now, that means I need a damn good soundtrack to keep me going, and this soundtrack is going to start off with “Pass the time” from Halfway to Neptune.

Really, I couldn’t have picked a more perfect song for right now. “Pass the time” is about just that– passing the time. It’s about dreaming of bigger things while you go through the motions of your normal life. It’s a classic pop-punk anthem in line with old-school Simple Plan tracks. It’s a little juvenile, but not in a bad way. As I listened to this song, a wave of pure nostalgia washed over me, and I was instantly transported to my childhood room, dreaming of what life was going to become for me. I still have those daydreams. I’ve accomplished so much over the past few years, but I know that there’s more to come, and I can’t thank Halfway to Neptune enough for reminding me that the work isn’t done and the daydream isn’t dead.
