Girl at the Rock Shows

I’ve shared out a bunch of songs from Mermaid Island over the past few months, and although their LP is already out, I don’t think it hurts to share one last banger from this album as a reminder that this is a band that you should be paying attention to right now.

This song is far from a happy one. Really, when you get into the lyrics and the story behind this song, it’s quite depressing yet I smiled the whole way through this three and a half minute song. There’s charm, and there’s heart dripping from every single beat of this song that will both tug at your heartstrings while also giving you a super warm and cozy feeling. I’ll be honest, this song is definitely a twist and a turn from the other songs that I’ve shared out from Mermaid Island, but it’s a captivating track that not only showcases this band’s powerful sound, but the way that they are able to bring such a raw emotion to everything to do while making sure that everything feels perfectly polished and radio-ready. A little folk, a little punk, a whole lot of passion and fire, “Panic Button” from Mermaid Island will definitely get you hooked into Mermaid Island’s world.
