There’s something almost daunting about hearing a sentence that starts with, “I heard.” I feel like that could lead to something super good or super terrible and you won’t know until the sentence is completed. Hearing a sentence start with “I heard” can leave you feeling a bit In Limbo, wouldn’t you agree? Okay, my fun with this band name and song title is done, and please forgive me for the torturous intro. Honestly, I don’t want to come up with some super quirky intro here; I just want to jump into “I Heard” from In Limbo.

I love how jangly and catchy this song is, but also how raw and emotional the lyrics come across as. “I Heard” was written by In Limbo during one of the hardest times in their life. What happened during that time? Honestly, it doesn’t matter, and the lyrics feel a bit vague when it comes to pinpointing exactly what happened, but that doesn’t change the weight that this song carries along with the sense of comfort that it can bring you if you, too, are going through a tough spot. Stylistically, this song falls perfectly into this new wave of Midwest emo happening with bands like Saturdays At Your Place and Riley! but, at the same time, this song is fully In Limbo and that’s a sound that I absolutely want more of after listening to “I Heard”
