Are you sick of me shoving Friends With Boats down your ear canals? Honestly, I don’t care. I know I’ve shared out a bunch of singles from this band, but it’s time to share out another one because, truthfully, this band is just that good, and I want to make sure that if you have been ignoring my calls to check this band out, you finally listen.

Honestly, Friend With Boats’ new song “A Long Way” is about all of the things I deal with any given day. It’s about burnout, the endless loop of corporate life, unnecessary work calls and meetings, and how men suck. Okay, I’m paraphrasing all the things this song touches on, but long story short, it’s about life and relatable to anyone who feels the pressure to keep up. It’s a fast-paced, hook-driven pop-punk song that will fill you with endless energy while also giving you a sense of comfort, knowing you aren’t alone in your feelings. Friends With Boats is a no-frills kind of band. They wear their hearts on their sleeves, and I love how that comes through loud and clear in every song I hear from them, but especially how it grabbed my heart when it comes to “A Long Way” in particular.
