Can you tell that focusing on work is just not my strong suit today? I have plenty I could be doing. A lot that I should be doing, but I am choosing to ignore all that and just continue checking out new music because, ultimately, that’s what I want to do right now, and it’s bringing me so much joy, so let’s jump into another new song.

This song has so many twists and turns within the short two minutes that it lasts that you will feel like you’re on a rollercoaster. Honestly, I hate coasters. I get too sick too easily, but if every coaster were like this song, I’d be all in. “Wasteland” is about overconsumption. It’s about how we seem to live our lives according to billboards. Advertisements show us what we should look like, what we should wear, what we should eat, and even how we should feel. It needs to stop. Personally, I’ve been trying to step away from it. Outside of my blog and booking business, I really don’t spend any time on social media. Big box stores have been replaced by mom and pop shops, and if I had my way, I would absolutely go back to having a flip phone or, better yet, a land line. When will we stop over-consuming? When will we start living our own lives rather than the lives that advertisements show us? I don’t know, but until it happens, I will at least find a little ounce of comfort in this quick and angsty number from Miracle Blood.
