Happy Friday, everyone. I hope you are all having a good week. Mine has definitely had some extreme highs and some extreme lows, but I’m really hoping today is one of those high days where I am absolutely motivated to stay motivated to get things done and still find some time for things that I really enjoy, like new music. With that in mind, let’s start today off right and, before I dive headfirst into work, let’s check out “Heart in the Stratosphere” from The Summelands.
Although this song is just under three minutes long, there’s something about it that lingered with me and made me want to listen to it over and over again. There’s emotion, there’s angst, there’s heart, tenderness, love, and fire. An indie rock song with a lean into emo and alt-rock, depending on the moment you’re listening to, I love how this band has a familiar sound yet gives it a twist to really make you remember their name. Like any good emo anthem, this song could be interpreted a million ways. If you’re having a kind of crummy day, this song can be a crutch for you. If you’re having a great day, “Heart in the Stratosphere” will surely lift you even higher. If you’re just having one of those days where you don’t know what you feel or if you feel anything, The Summerlands will remind you that you’re human by making you feel something with this song. I’m not here to tell you how this song should or will make you feel. I’m here to tell you that you need to check out “Heart in the Stratosphere” from The Summerlands for yourself.
