Bands like Bloodywood and The HU are amazing to me. I love how they take a standard and classic metal sound but bring in influences from their home countries. I don’t travel a lot and, truthfully, have only ever been out of the country once to pee in Canada (long story involving me being super young and at Niagara Falls), but being able to see bands like Bloodywood and The HU helps me travel without leaving the comfort of my own home. I have another band to add to that list now, and that band is TopTierTitan.
TopTierTian and their new song “Nach Naal” in particular blend your standard metal sound with Punjabi/South Asian rhythms and sounds. It creates such a cool, other-worldly kind of sound that will feel familiar at times but feel so foreign at others. I love the balance that TopTierTitan has found between these two things. The song starts off standard enough and comes off as a super tender hard-rock love song, but as it moves forward, you get to hear the genius that is TopTierTitan unroll right in front of your ears. Although this may lean a bit more toward radio-friendly hard rock than I tend to go for, the uniqueness of this track and this band in general had me more than sold.
