No, I will not stop sharing songs from The Jack Knives with you all. No, I have never been to London. No, I am not super stoked to be at work right now. Okay, I know you didn’t ask any of those questions, but I’m coming up short for an intro right now, so instead of me listing off more things that nobody asked and nobody cares about, let’s just jump right into the latest single from The Jack Knives, “Late Nights In London.”
As the band puts it, this song is a “fast-paced, heart-on-your-sleeve anthem about getting lost in the magic of a city with the person you love.” Honestly, what more needs to be said? This song has The Jack Knives’ signature brand of accessible punk energy but it comes with this sense of coziness that I don’t think I’ve gotten from this band before. “Late Nights In London” is a celebratory song that is perfect for a Friday night surrounded by friends, but it’s also perfect for those weekday mornings when you’re chained at a desk and wishing you were anywhere but there. I’ve never been to London, but I know when that chance finally comes (and I think it will eventually), I will be having this song playing on repeat at top volume to just add to the memory and the magic.
