I don’t have a quirky intro for you right now. It’s just one of those days where coming to terms with the fact that there just aren’t enough hours in the day is sobering at best. I’m stressed but not panicked, and that has me even more stressed out. I can’t concentrate on anything right now, but I don’t have anything on my mind either. Long story short, it’s time for another break, so let’s take a quick listen to “Emma Peel” from Perennial.
This song is ridiculously short at just a few seconds over one minute but Perennial packs if full of some amazing things. From the instrumentation to the vocals, this song, like my mind, is stressed in a way but not panicked. There’s chaos scattered throughout the song, but there are also these glimmers of calm among the chaos. I don’t know how, but this song seems to be hitting me at the perfect time. As I got lost in this track a few times over, I felt like my brain was spilling out onto my desk. Because of this, it’s hard to find all of the right words to describe this song, but I will say that if you’re having a day like me, you need to hear this song at least a dozen times. It will help, I promise.
