Sex Pistols last night. Pinhead Gunpowder tonight. Someone pinch me. How is this my life? I honestly don’t know, but I’m also not going to spend any time questioning it. Things are amazing. I feel like I’m on cloud nine right now, and I want music that reflects that, and “The Scumbags Way” from Old Sparky is hitting the spot.
This song, like The Sex Pistols show last night, is rowdy and raw. It’s, as the band puts it, “a middle-finger punk rock anthem.” It’s the kind of song that you want to sing along to. Even if you don’t know the words, you want to join in with a fist in the air and beer sloshing everywhere as you slam your body against others. Although just a minute and twenty-five seconds long, Old Sparky packs an insane amount of energy into this song. I don’t know if or when I’ll ever get a chance to see this German band live, but listening to this song gave me a taste of what it might be like, and honestly, I feel like my life is just going to turn into a countdown and a dream of when the dream of seeing them live will come true.
