One of my biggest pet peeves is when bands need to approve photos from a show before I can publish. As a creature of habit, I have a daily schedule, and publishing my review the night after the show is part of it. A delay in publishing throws me off, and that’s where I am today. I’m waiting for approval, and until I get it, I feel like my day is on hold. Instead of getting frustrated, I’m going to use this time to dive into some new music, so let’s start today early and right with “The Little Things” from Firestone Elementary.

We all know the importance of “The Little Things,” but we often forget it. This Firestone Elementary song reminds us to find meaning in life’s small moments. It’s an emotionally charged track for overthinkers and people who carry problems late into the night, lying awake in bed and replaying moments that maybe didn’t go as planned, worrying about tomorrow. Long story short, this song is for people like me, but the band reminds you that tomorrow is a new day. It’s a positive message attached to a super angsty track, creating a balance that is as beautiful and powerful as it is cathartic. “The Little Things” is Firestone Elementary’s second song back after a twenty-year hiatus. I’m not sure what caused the hiatus, and I honestly know nothing about the band before it, but I’m happy to see them back and can’t wait to hear what comes next from this Cleveland-based band.
