Australia is one of those places I have always wanted to visit. Yeah, I know, I’m scared to death of spiders and other crawly creatures to it’s probably not the place for me but I still would just love to go enjoy the sun and the beautiful beaches I see on TV. Sadly, that’s not in the cards for me right now. Thankfully, Business. reached out to me. This trio is from Australia so let’s see if their music can bring me those sunny beach vibes!

This quick EP begins with “Nice To Meet You”. This is a slow and steady track with indie-pop tendencies but a whole lot of heart. Although there’s something very commercial and mainstream about this opening track, there is an undeniable sense of emotion in the lyrics that absolutely had me sold on this trio. The words “Nice to meet you” echo through this song and, as an opening track, well, the lyrics are just perfect. The beat is infectious and although not quite giving me the beach vibes I was hoping for, I thoroughly enjoyed this opening track.

I started getting my easy, breezy beach vibes with “Natalie. This super fun track is still very laid back and chill like the first track but there’s just something a bit more organic about the beat compared to the more mainstream vibe of “Nice To Meet You”. A funky bassline drives this quick track forward and a super catchy chorus had me smiling from ear to ear. Although this track is, again, a bit more commercial than I typically go, there’s no denying the calming vibes that this song gives off. I may or may not have sat in my chair dancing like a fool as this track played through.

“I Just Can’t Wait (To Waste Time)” expands on the fresh vibe of “Natalie” while bringing a little bit more soul to the table. This was an instant favorite of mine. There’s a fuzziness about the vocals that I found intriguing and the beach feeling from the guitars had me in the right mood instantly. The lyrics really match the very organic feeling of this song. As someone who spent her day in an anxiety-ridden state, the words “I just can’t wait to waste time” really resonated with my heart and soul.

There’s a sense of tenderness that comes in for “Just Like Always”. Still very free-flowing and organic feeling, I loved the beauty that seemed to come with this fourth track on this quick EP. Although the lyrics come through clear, I found myself trying to pay attention to everything and I lost track of what was being said. I really wish I would have had some lyric sheets because I’m pretty sure I loved every word and phrase in this stunning track. Even as the song amps up about a minute in, there’s no drop in the beauty and passion that comes through with every note and word.

The title track, “Like You” closes out this EP. Don’t get me wrong, there’s no shaking this band of their calming vibes but there was something a bit more energetic about this final song that really hit me just right. This is just a little bit more of that surfer-rock vibe that I think I thought I was going to get. Now, don’t get it twisted, I have thoroughly loved every track on this EP from Business. but it has just been a bit of a different vibe than I thought I was going to get. This final track is definitely what I had stuck in my head when I learned this band was from Australia and it was the perfect way to ending this amazing release.
