We are going to start trying something new here. I get to listen to a lot of amazing singles but feel like what I’ve been doing is not giving them as much attention as these singles (and bands) deserve so I’m going to start doing a super short blog post on each of these singles giving you a chance to check out the songs I’m digging lately, read why I love them so much, and point you in the direction of these amazing bands. So let’s see how this works out starting with “Mr. One Six” from the band drive safe!
“Mr. One Six” is a perfect pop-punk song with an ear-wormy chorus that will absolutely get stuck in your head. I swear that I listened to this song one time and then had the chorus stuck in my head for a few days after. It’s fun and makes you want to bounce around your kitchen like a fool. The recording quality of this track is perfectly imperfect just enhancing the almost old-school pop-punk vibe with modern twists and turns throughout.
There’s a lot to dissect throughout this track and although it’s very situated in the pop-punk vein of things, there are some surprises along the way that are sure to keep you enthralled throughout the track.
