All that Loveseat Lane’s bio said was “Wannabe Rockstar”. I found that kind of funny at first but, when I heard “Cellophane”, I instantly recognized that this was a lie. Loveseat Lane is absolutely a rockstar based on this one track alone.
With a strong pop-punk influence reminiscent of old-school Blink 182 to the point where just half a minute in, you get a clear ode to “Going Away to College” from Blink before the song really lays into Loveseat Lane’s original sound. Yes, kind of generic pop-punk at face value but, when you start to dig into this song, you get a lot more. Super smooth guitar work with pounding drums and an undeniable sense of passion with every word. “Cellophane” is just one of those songs that is sure to bring a smile to your face and a pep to your step.
Loveseat Lane is far from a “Wannabe Rockstar”. This track is absolutely great and definitely gets him rockstar status!
