Girl at the Rock Shows

I’m sure you’re like me and, when you saw the title of this track from Mira Nova, you assumed that this would be a heartbreak kind of song about a love lost. Don’t worry– that was seriously where my mind went but when I read the description of this song to find out it is actually a love letter to an old band that the members of Mira Nova were a part of, I was intrigued. That intrigue grew as I hit play on the track.

“Love Letter” has everything my new favorite song needs. Pop-punk roots with modern twists and an undeniable sense of heart. The energy throughout this track is electrifying and is one of those songs that makes you crave a live show as soon as it kicks off. Sure, this is fairly generic pop-punk if you want me to be 100% honest but that does not lessen the fact that is done so perfectly. From perfectly toned drums to slightly whiny vocals that tell the story of this song with an undeniable sense of emotion– call me basic, call this song basic if you really want– but this is just a damn good track.

“Love Letter” is not a new track from Mira Nova. It actually came out a year ago so don’t mind me as I plan on spending the rest of my work day digging into some of their newer material.
