Do you remember that one super good single I shared out back in April titled “New Balance” from Kidd Judo? Okay, I know that’s a stretch. I’ve been sharing out so many singles lately and feel like even I am having a hard time keeping track but something about that song really stuck with me so when Kidd Judo came back around with another amazing track, well, here we are– another post where I go all fan-girl over this band.
The second track off of Kidd Judo’s debut album, “Don’t Spook The Owl” is filled to the brim with passion and emotion. The song starts off slow and somber but quickly ramps into something that can only be referred to as Kidd Judo. It’s intense and chaotic but organized and well thought out. All there are more layers of vocals and instrumentation throughout this track than I can honestly list, the way they all come together is pure magic. Lyrically, this song leans a bit more religious feeling than I tend to go but I feel like the words throughout this song don’t have to be able religion. I’m not going to give it all away but, when listening to “Don’t Spook The Owl”, don’t let just the music take you over, let the words roll into your mind. It will create a beautiful moment that my words just can not do justice for.
